Super Smash Bros: Favorite Characters

Today I would like to post about my top ten favorite Super Smash Bros. characters. If you haven't played this game, its main goal is to pick a Nintendo character, fight other Nintendo characters, and then KO them (i.e. knock them off the screen). Honestly, though, the game is a lot more fun to play than it sounds; there are a lot of complicated factors that really make the game interesting. So, without further ado, I present my top ten favorite characters spanning the series of four games:

1. Zelda
Of all the characters I have experimented and played with, my favorite remains Zelda, Princess of Hyrule. I remember playing as her years ago on our Gamecube, and I have stuck to using her almost ever since. Zelda uses powerful, ethereal attacks that appear to be made of light!

In Super Smash Bros. Melee for the Gamecube, Zelda first appears as a fair-haired, eloquent figure. However, in Super Smash Bros Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U, her design was (in my humble opinion) degraded to a snooty, angry monarch (lol). (Actually, after looking carefully, she wasn't as snooty as I thought. But still, she had a nicer face in Melee.)

Technical issues with Zelda include lack of speed, a slow falling speed, and a light frame. However, many of these issues can be overcome with her powerful side and special attacks.

2. Young Link
Another character from the Legend of Zelda series, Young Link is a small warrior, and has experienced some pretty zany adventures. He is only playable in Super Smash Bros. Melee, and was subsequently replaced with Toon Link.

While some of Young Link's moves are rather wimpy and weak, he has always had a special place in my Super Smash Bros. roster.

3. Sheik
Sheik...is an enigma. When one presses the special down move in either Super Smash Bros. Melee or Brawl, Zelda will spin around and, in a flurry of light, transform into this mysterious character. (Sadly, this awesome feature was removed in the newest edition of Super Smash. Bros. :{ )

Sheik is a really fast character, and has some pretty sweet moves! Together, Sheik and Zelda make for a killer combination!

Fun Fact: Sheik is actually lighter than Zelda!

4. Capt. Falcon
This cool guy is quite the athletic type! Captain Falcon, hailing from the F-Zero series, is one of the spiffiest characters in the entire game. Wearing a pair of dark shades, he gives off quite the masculine aura, paired with his fiery punches and kicks!

Captain Falcon has been in the game since its first installment, Super Smash Bros. released for the N64.

5. Pit
An angel from the game Kid Icarus, Pit is majestic and epic bound together in one entity. His wings enable him to fly, giving him an advantage over many of the characters.

6. Pikachu
Another original character, Pikachu is a Pokemon with quite the electric touch! Almost all of his moves involve electricity in some form or another.

7. Lucas
A young boy with puffy blond hair and bizarre movesets, this character is difficult to use, due to his up move being hard to pull off. Nevertheless, this character sports some cool-looking attacks.

This character comes from the Mother series, known in America as EarthBound.

8. Link
Link is one of the more famous Nintendo characters, with his picturesque green cap and blond hair. However, his side grab is awful and he is a little slow. (Plus, he's not as cute as Young Link.) Still, he's LINK! And that is pretty cool.

9. Marth
A noble figure, Marth sports a epic-looking cape. However, his swordplay is rather slow compared to Link. Marth is from the Fire Emblem series.

10. Pichu
Commonly called the worst character of all time, Pichu takes damage with some of his own moves. However, his cuteness and adorable sound effects won me over.

Honorable Mention:
Palutena- the goddess of light in Kid Icarus, with unbeliveably long hair.
Ness- the dark-haired protagonist from EarthBound.
Luigi- Mario's brother and faithful sidekick.

That's all for now, folks! If you would like to share your favorite characters, or would like to find out more about the series, please comment below. Thanks!
